Common questions about getting started and what to expect
-
You can self-schedule your free 15-minute consultation using the link below.

The consultation is a 15-minute complimentary phone call where we will talk a little about what’s bringing you to therapy. I may ask a few questions based on what you share, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
If we both feel like we’re a good fit, we will use the last few minutes to talk through scheduling, logistics, and getting our first session on the calendar!
-
You’ve probably spent plenty of time talking it through, asking for opinions, and trying to make sense of it on your own.
Therapy gives you a place to bring all of that to someone who feels easy to talk to and has the training to help you navigate it.
WORKING TOGETHER
The Therapy Experience
What therapy with me looks like, so you can feel confident about what to expect.
-
Nope! My work is with individuals.
Your relationship might be what brings you to therapy, but our work gets to be about you.
If couples counseling becomes something you want to explore, I’m happy to provide a referral to someone who can support that work alongside ours.
-
Then you don’t! In fact, if you knew exactly what you wanted to do next and felt completely confident doing it, you probably wouldn’t be here.
We can hold the messy middle. I’m not here to push you into making a decision. I’m here to help you trust yourself enough to figure out what you want and navigate it confidently!
-
Most clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions. Especially in the beginning, consistency is important for building a strong therapeutic relationship and maintaining momentum between sessions.
-
The beauty of therapy is that it’s a continually evolving process and relationship!
Some clients come to therapy with a specific goal or focus and choose to end sessions once they feel they’ve achieved what they came in for.
Others choose to continue therapy longer term, finding it to be a consistent source of support, reflection, and insight.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
